Religion has been incorporated into recovery with great success in many instances. 12-step programs use belief in a Higher Power as a basis for recovery and have become incredibly widespread. Alcoholics Anonymous is one example. You may have heard of gamblers anonymous and overeaters anonymous as well. Though it is not advertised heavily, religion is incorporated into healing at many treatment centers across the nation.

Religion and scientific treatment are highly compatible, and we use both to their fullest extent.
