Despite its name, "partial hospitalization" does not mean the patient will be hospitalized, even partially. During treatment in the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) at Rebecca's House, the patient will commute either from her home or our living facility to the Rebecca's House treatment center.
PHP is built for patients who show severe symptoms of an eating disorder such as anorexia and bulimia. The structured day treatment model helps these patients understand and overcome their eating disorder in a comfortable but organized and intensive environment. Our staff will support patients throughout their treatment so they can better integrate the skills they learn during therapy into their day to day life after they finish treatment.
Like patients in other programs, patients in the Partial Hospitalization Program will engage in many different activities and therapies such as gym exercise with a kinesiologist, individual therapy, equine therapy, and art therapy. Through these activities, patients become more aware of both their feelings and behaviors, and how to control them without relying on their eating disorder. Patients learn how to focus on the present and regulate their emotions, cope with life's difficulties, and build better, healthier relationships with others.
Because of the intensive nature of this program, patients must participate between 6 to 8 hours a day, and up to 6 days per week during treatment. For more information about our partial hospitalization program, please contact us. We will be more than happy to answer your questions.
