Rebecca's House announced Founder, Rebecca Cooper will be appearing on the morning show on Great Day St Louis KMOV today, April 26th, 2012, to raise awareness for sugar and other eating disorders that are affecting a major portion of the U.S population.

 

Sugar addiction is a major concern as there has been a rise in obesity, heart disease and diabetes in recent years. Obesity, weakened immune system, chronic fatigue, hormonal problems and gastrointestinal issues are some of the more common effects of long-term sugar addiction, Psychological issues, such as anxiety and depression, can also be aggravated by consuming too much sugar.

 

"Many people don't understand how dangerous eating disorders are," Founder Rebecca Cooper stated. "People tend to not take eating disorders as seriously as other mental health, but eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any known mental illness." Rebecca, a former eating disorders sufferer herself, founded Rebecca's House in 1999 and since then has been one of the most recognized eating disorder treatment centers in the country.
